ABOUT DAVID TAYLOR
I work with various media, including watercolour, pastel and oil.
Most of my work is initially based on landscape. Sometimes this a direct response to a particular place using drawing and watercolour.
The mixed media abstracted work involves processes that create a layered surface, which are reworked by applying, removing and reapplying media over a long period of time. In this way manipulating the formal properties of painting can be linked to a transient landscape changing with geological and atmospheric forces.
